Summer Camps

Summer ’17: A Look Back

Field Trip Fridays
Every Friday, participants in our Computing Kids program went on inspiring field trips to learn how computer programming translates into everyday life. Students visited local landmarks, including The Center for Wooden Boats and The Museum of Flight.

‘Code Your Future’ Summer Camp
Thanks to funding from the Department of Education and Early learning, this summer we were able to provide struggling and low-income students the opportunity to enhance their math skills through an all-day coding camp.

Summer School Courses: An Overview

Join us in one of our computer programming summer camps! Summer 2018 course dates and times TBD

HTML Introduction to Web Programming

Grades 6 – 8

Students learn the fundamentals of web design and use these concepts to create their own web page. Using HTML (Hypertext Markup Language), the backbone of website design, students learn how to structure content and insert text, images, and links to other web pages. They learn how to style their page using CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) to change fonts, add borders and colors and much more. This knowledge equips students with competitive and marketable skills.

Scientific Modelling

Grades 5 – 8

Ever wonder how people solve problems through programming? What it’s like to be able to use your computer to predict the future? Or even what the inside of a computer looks like? If so, signup for Scientific Modeling with Scratch and learn all about computer modeling and how it can be used to do all this and more! In our class, you will use scratch to create programs and model real world scenarios, such as how over-fishing affects the food chain or the causes of an eclipse. At the end of the course, you will get a chance to demonstrate what you learned by creating your very own computer model, as well as get the chance to take apart a real computer! So don’t miss out and sign up today!

Programming with Scratch

Grades 4-5

In Creative Computing with Scratch students design their own world and then bring it to life with Scratch developed at MIT. Through creating Interactive scenes and original games, Instructors Introduce and suggest advanced gaming and animation techniques and the fundamentals of programming (including conditions). Instructors provide personalized instruction to engage students of all learning styles, provide challenges to own pace.
